This was a song that gives the appearance of giving up. There's a few versions of this video, of the video sampled with Bass and lead guitars added. One sampled version has the Bass and guitars. Then there's a switch-off of 2 versions of the other guitars from opposite sides. This song was really sad and originally recorded in a hospital bed, as the beeping of the heart monitor in the background makes evident.
Motuphi's eccentric mindset gets disclosed here as he makes his way through this era of his life, unrealistically expecting the object of his affection to know he's trying to communicate with her and to respond to him.
No one really knows what Motuphi was hoping to accomplish with all of his online serenades. We do know that the world was secretly riveted, waiting to see how it played out. Many were disappointed to see someone else on stage with Hail Your Highness after all of this, as we were all prepared to become fans of Motuphi's guitar goddess and her muse, even those of us who don't necessarily like Christian music.
Just another example of how Motuphi can pull you into his dreams. We were captivated by his online romance and were anxiously awaiting a release incorporating their talents as a product of their "love".
We hopeless romantics anticipated a fairy-tale outcome that never happened, which left us feeling let down. How unique would that've been, the band built on the power of love? In today's world, success combined with love is all but unheard of; so we watched and we waited. The magic connection never happened. It was a sad ending to what could've been such a beautiful story.
